AfriNIC - technical definition

The Regional Internet Registry (RIR) responsible for assigning Internet Protocol (IP) addresses variously to National Internet Registries (NIRs) or directly to Local Internet Registries (LIRs) on the African continent. See also IP, IP address, LIR, NIR, and RIR.
