APNIC - technical definition

The Regional Internet Registry (RIR) responsible for assigning Internet Protocol (IP) addresses variously to National Internet Registries (NIRs) or directly to Local Internet Registries (LIRs) in the Asia-Pacific region. See also IP, IP address, LIR, NIR, and RIR.
