Dubbed “the axis of evil”
by President George W. Bush, as of 2002, the United States Department of State
has listed what the United States deems
to be seven designated state sponsors of terrorism:
Cuba, Iran, Iraq, North Korea, Libya, Syria, and Sudan. According to the U.S.
government, these countries have been identified as sponsoring terrorist
organizations and providing them with weapons and high-Âtechnology products for
plotting and executing their violent operations against targeted nations.
