Computer Fraud and Abuse Act of 1986 - technical definition

Originally passed in 1986 and amended in 1994 and 1996. It also was amended in October 2001 by the USA PATRIOT Act. Section 1030, in particular, deals with fraud and associated activity aimed at or with computers. For fuller details on Section 1030, see Computer Crime Statute 18 U.S.C. Section 1030.
