Future Public Land Mobile Telecommunications System - technical definition

An initiative of the ITUR that defined a vision for a single global standard for digital wireless networks. FPLMTS was subsequently replaced by International Mobile Telecommunications-2000 (IMT-2000). See also IMT-2000.
