GEMBASE - technical definition

A database and runtime engine from Ross Enterprise, the ERP division of CDC Software, Atlanta, GA (www.rossinc.com) that is noted for its high transaction performance and scalability. Part of the Ross suite of products, GEMBASE runs on Windows NT/2000, OpenVMS and Unix servers that support dumb terminals and Windows clients. Its proprietary DML scripting language can access Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server database platforms as well as provide application partitioning.

GEMBASE's largest customer is Ross itself, developer of the iRenaissance suite of applications for the process manufacturing industry. GEMBASE was originally developed by Pioneer Computing. See iRenaissance suite, IAF and DML.
