LACNIC - technical definition

The Regional Internet Registry (RIR) responsible for assigning Internet Protocol (IP) addresses variously to National Internet Registries (NIRs) or directly to Local Internet Registries (LIRs) in Latin America and the Caribbean. See also IP, IP address, LIR, NIR, and RIR.
