MicroVAX - technical definition


A line of entry-level VAXs from Digital Equipment introduced in 1983 that ran under the MicroVMS or ULTRIX operating systems. Some models used the Q-bus architecture. A large number of MicroVAX models were developed over the years. See VAX.

Going and Going and Going

Still running in 2003, this MicroVAX (top unit) was one of the original models. Subsequent MicroVAX models were larger, floor-standing units. Although obsolete for more than a decade, many old computers like this one continue to be used today, often performing only one function day in and day out.
