microprojector - technical definition


(1) A microscope that magnifies and projects its images onto a screen.

(2) A tiny, portable data projector for use with handheld devices such as cellphones and PDAs. Introduced in 2008, microprojectors either plug into, or the mechanism is built into, the device. They can project an image onto any handy flat surface typically up to 20" in bright light and up to 50" in the dark.
