(legal term)
In October
of 1996, the U.S. National Information Infrastructure Protection Act of 1996
was passed as part of Public Law 104-294. It made changes to the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, codified
at 18 U.S.C. § 1030. The changes were
meant to add strength to that Act by closing legal voids to more ably protect
the confidentiality, integrity,
and security of computer
information and Ânetworks.
