Photoshop Elements - technical definition

A consumer version of the Photoshop image editing program from Adobe. Widely used, it provides all the editing functions most users require to do routine touch-up of their photos. Although it lacks many of the sophisticated features in Photoshop, it does support layers, which is an essential function for creating complex, composite images. See Photoshop and layers.
