picocell - technical definition

In radio systems, an imprecise, relative term referring to a very small area of coverage, perhaps comprising only a few city blocks, a tunnel, walkway, or single floor of a parking garage. A picocell is smaller than a microcell and much smaller than a macrocell. See also cell, femtocell, macrocell, and microcell.
