psycho-acoustic model - technical definition

A set of algorithms for analyzing sounds developed by Dr. Amar Bose. The psycho-acoustic model is used by perceptual audio coding methods to analyze audio content to reduce the complexity of the frequencies in order to further compress the digital data. See perceptual audio coding.
