Is Your Term About Software?

For more than 25 years, we have always tried to define important software packages that are widely used or that have had significant impact. In fact, including popular products is what has differentiated our publications from all the rest.

However, there are more than 100,000 software packages in use, and vendors update their applications routinely. They change their functions and features and often change the names of the products, making it a horrendous task keeping their entries up-to-date. Therefore, if you have a software product that is near and dear to your heart, we may not be able to include it unless it is very popular or has made a serious contribution to the field. In addition, if you can assist us in defining it, there is a better chance of our including it in the next release.
