trunk side - technical definition

In telco terminology, referring to the internal telco network, or telco-facing portion of the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN).This is in contrast to the line side of the network, which is the local loop, or customer-facing portion of the PSTN.The demarcation point is at the local loop interface to the central office (CO).
