WAP Forum - technical definition

(Wireless Application Protocol Forum, Mountain View, CA, www.wapforum.org) An organization founded in 1997 to promote a wireless standard for smartphones and mobile terminals. In 2002, it merged into the Open Mobile Alliance. See OMA and WAP.
